Q- How does this all work? How do I book a shoot?
A- 1) Pay your session fee and sign your contract.
2) Have a phone/email/coffee date consultation about what style shoot you want and little details to make it special
3) Wardrobe planning with Stacey
4) Photoshoot Day
5) Refer Emerald to all of your friends and colleagues to earn $$ towards your purchases
6) Two weeks later, come back to the studio for the reveal session to see all your images
7) Order your products at the reveal session. Look at samples and decide what best fits your home and budget
8) Pick up products when they arrive. (*Some products need to be proofed by you first, such as albums. Then they can be ordered.)
9) Write an amazing review recommending Stacey :)
Q- What is a 'Session Fee'?
A- Every photographer is different, but I keep my session fee separate from my products. You pay a session fee based on what type of session you are looking for. The session fee covers the time of the photoshoot, wardrobe consultation, guided posing, the time of the photographer for consultations and professional retouching of the images (some include hair & makeup, too). When we meet for your Reveal Session, that is when you purchase all of your products, digitals and prints at that time.
Q- I noticed that you are more expensive compared to some other local photographers. Why?
A- I would love to be able to offer my products at a cheaper rate because I believe EVERYONE should have beautifully printed photographs in their home, but that just isn’t a sustainable model for my business. I have very carefully sourced my products from all over the world and I stand behind their quality.
Q- How much do you cost?
A- You pay your session fee based on what type of session you are looking for. The session fee covers the time of the photoshoot, wardrobe consultation, guided posing, the time of the photographer for consultations and professional retouching of the images (some include hair & makeup, too). When we meet for your Reveal Session you purchase all of your products, digitals and prints at that time.
Q- Why are your digital images $75/image? I see people on Facebook who give them away
A- My digitals are the most valuable item I can offer because multiple copies can be made. I offer complimentary digitals with every print and product ordered (excluding my a la carte items and albums.)
Q- Can I just buy a couple of digital files and print somewhere cheaper?
A- Sure. Once you purchase your print resolution files you are free to print them wherever you would like, however, I cannot guarantee the quality of the printed items you receive. My personal labs are calibrated to my work and it is only then that I can control the quality and delivery of such products.
Q- I really want a particular item you offer but this is not a good time to spend that money.
Can I order at a later date?
A- The amount you want to invest is entirely up to you. However, if you are feeling guilty about spending the money, I offer payment plans. Sometimes spending money on ourselves is easier if we can pay over time. I want everyone to have a beautiful keepsakes they can display in their home. You can find more information
about payment options HERE.
Q- Why do I need to sign a contract after I place my order?
A- The Ordering Contract outlines your commitment to pay the agreed upon total price and verify the product(s) that you order.
Q- Why do I sign so many contracts?
A- You will sign 3-4 contracts while working with me. First, you sign a contract for the session. It outlines all the details of the day and covers us both so we know what we can expect from each other. Next, you sign an ordering contract committing to what products you want to purchase and payment of those products. Lastly, I send a media model release after your reveal session so that you may decide what images I can use for print or web postings. I NEVER post anything without your permission. You can choose one image or all of them, it is entirely up to what you are comfortable with. And lastly, if you choose to do a payment plan, you will need to sign a contract outlining due dates and interest fees. Sorry guys, I know it's a lot of legal stuff but it keeps us all protected.
Q- I purchased a color image and I want to add a black and white filter to it before I post to
social media. Am I allowed to do that?
A- No. My photography is copyrighted which means they may not be altered in any way. If you need something, contact me, I am always open to discussion.
Q- Can I post your images on social media?
A- Yes! If you purchased the digital images, they include a print release. Here's the deal- if you like something I did, sure, you can repost it as long as there is credit to me! You may not post any of my work unless you are me or one of my clients.
Q- Who retouches the images? Who sees the raw files?
A- I use a professional retouching service that does very minimal edits, then I put my artistic edits on them.
Q- How much do you retouch the images?
A- I do not like to take any truth away from the original image, but I do like to make sure the focus is on what we discuss in the consultation. How far I retouch images is also discussed during consultation. The reveal session is when you will view your images and if there is anything you do not like, that would be the time to discuss change. Extra editing may result in extra fees.
Q- Can I get the raw files?
A- Absolutely not. All images that are chosen have my artistic spin on them, along with me style of editing. I do not EVER offer raw files and my retouched files may never be edited by another party, not authorized by myself. I'd like to think you respect me enough and like my style and that's why you hired me.
you'll hear from me shortly.
I want you to have images that will be treasured for generations to come. Please send me a note about what kind of session you are interested in and I will get back to you as soon as I can!
